The thyristor emitter zone has a high conductivity on the anode and cathode type and a low conductivity in the base zone, as in (2203156). The boundary surface (3') of the control base zone (3) on the cathode side is only partly covered by the emitter zone (4) on the cathode sides, if at all, at least on the parts (3") which have the smallest spacing from the parts of the region (5) of the control base zone, forming the current paths for the control current. The not covered boundary surface parts are wider than the adjacent parts of the control paths. Preferably this width is reduced with the distance from the control electrode contact (5').
