The conveyor mechanism (9) has compartments which are led at a particular rate underneath the outputs of individual counting units (1). These counting units are arranged in succession and can be automatically switched on and off consecutively in accordance with the rate matching the number of compartments which lie between the outputs of the individual counting units. The conveyor mechanism can be constructed like a bucket elevator. The counting units can be switched on by means of forward reverse counting decades with adjustable selection. Counting units can be positioned to left and right of the conveyor mechanism.
