Demolition unit for bridge - has support between bridge supports spanning road with longitudinal connectors

The bridge unit is underpinned between its two supports, then detached from the supports and slowly moved sideways. An auxiliary support unit is placed between the supports spanning the road and has a support surface which forms a sliding plane. The unit is adapted to the contour of the underside of the bridge unit and has a number of connectors arranged at a distance from one another. These extend in the longitudinal direction of the bridge and are supported on yokes close to the supports. The demolition does not endanger or cause interruption to traffic.
