Storage heater comprises a core for pre-storing heat Calories of 2 Kw. and a direct heating system having a power of 2 Kw, and a switch for switching current supply to core charging or direct heating. The heat from both sources may be withdrawn simultaneously to provide increased heat for an apparatus of only 2 Kw. The heat is taken from the core by means of a fan which may be infinitely adjustable, while the direct heating system consists of a convection heater or fan heater. The apparatus may be a steel or tiled electric stove of any shape. Adjusting means for the charge rate of the core and power of the direct heating system respectively, and for adjusting fan speed are incorporated.
