Rapid-hardening epoxide coating powder - contg. cycloaliphatic carboxylic dianhydride, giving good dielectric properties for insulation

Rapid-hardening epoxide resin-based coating powder, which is esp. suitable for electric insulation, contains a cycloaliphatic carboxylic dianhydride (I) as hardener. (I) pref. is tetrahydrofurantetracarboxylic dianhydride (Ia) and is used in an amt. of 2-10, esp. 4-6 wt. % in the powder. The powder can also contain mineral filler(s), a thixotropic agent and opt. a coloured pigment and a flow promoter (e.g. a low-mol. acrylic ester or polyvinyl- butyral). Used for coating the slots of rotors and stators e.g. stators of 3-phase generators etc.
