Mine heading ventilation assembly - refrigerator vaporiser preceded by extra fan with upstream balance ducting

Refrigerator and fan assembly for concertina ducting in advanced headings in the mining industry in which the vaporiser lies within the ducting and the main booster fan ahead of the ducting in the entrance to the roadway. Mounted directly ahead of the vaporiser (5) is an auxiliary booster fan (4), itself preceded by a length of ducting (3) which acts as a ventilation balance and has ports for this purpose. Preferably this balance ducting is made from metal sheeting which ahs rings of ports in its centre part and mounts a protective casing for these, the casing supported by struts and fitted with an entry annulus.
