Double cutter carpet cutting machine - carpet conveying speed matches cutters, and is faster between cuts

The carpet cutting machine has the carpet web -(3) conveyed by an endless conveyor (1) with a cutter block (4) guided vertically by a set of uprights (9) and driven by a rotating crank arm (6), and has a counter block (7) underneath, similarly driven by a rotating crank arm (8), rotating in the opposite direction. The drive roller (2) for the conveyor and the crank drives for two sets of cutters and counter-blocks are all driven from one motor. The conveyor is controlled independently from the crank drives by incorporation of differential gears, so that the conveyor speed is the same as the longitudinal component of the cutting speed during cutting, and is accelerated between successive cuts.
