L-shaped webs are provided as an integral part of the window leaf structure, protruding towards the frame, which has a vertical mullion with a wedge-shaped channel into the sloping surface of which the L-shaped web comes to rest when the window is in closed position. The sloping surface forces the window leaf to move slightly laterally and the adjacent leaf faces fitted with elastic sealing strips are pressed against the frame faces. The design avoids the labour intensive fittings of blocks with the abutting guide channels, this prior art system also being unsightly in appearance.
