Stepwise feeding strip, bar or wire to a press - using reciprocating feeder slide with clamp actuated during forward stroke

Feeder device for the stepwise feeding of strip, bar or wire to the tool in a machine, esp. a stamping machine or press, using an eccentrically-controlled reciprocating push-feeder contg. a clamp actuated by a cam-disc, where the feeder is operated by the r.p.m. of a shaft driving the eccentric. The eccentric is driven at n times the r.p.m. of the drive-shaft where n is a whole number so that the feeder carries out n strokes during one machine cycle and the clamp is only actuated during the forward stroke of the feeder. Two sets of gears are pref. used, one driving the eccentric, the other the clamp. Used with high speed presses, the feeder being of simple design and involving little wear.
