The apparatus comprises a hollow body (5a) filled with a cleaning fluid, typically ether, fitted between the arms of a stiff L-shaped member (2) and a flexible arm (1), the latter terminating in a sensor tip (3), which rests on a rotating disc (6). A circular damping disc is also situated between the two arms. The bellows shaped body (5a) is normally partially filled with the fluid, which evaporates slowly at room temperature, and partly with the vapour of the liquid. The release of fluid is dependent on the force applied to the end of the lever member.
