The distribution strip for telephone equipment has spring contact pairs for connecting together incoming and outgoing external wires and means for breaking this connection with a test plug. Voltage arresters (7) are held by supports (6) inside the bottom half of the insulating block that forms the strip housing. The surge voltage arresters are connected to pairs of spring contacts (2, 3) by intermediate conductors (4) and are earthed at their opposite terminals by earth rails (17) around their support pieces. The intermediate conductors have contact heads (5) that touch the arresters terminals. The support pieces for the arresters consist of a two-part insulating strip that holds all arresters.
