Junction-free contacts prodn on ceramic resistors - using silver enamel contg lower alkyl borate, for simplicity and economy

In the prodn. of junction-free contacts for ceramic electric resistors with positive temp. coefft. of resistance of ferroelectric materials with perovskite structure, which are made semiconductor (n-conducting) by doping with foreign ions, by applying the contact in the form of a Ag enamel prepn. and baking in an oxidising atmos., the Ag prepn. is treated with a 1-4C-alkyl borate before applying to the surface of the resistor. The Ag prepn. pref. contains Me3BO3, esp.at 10-30 wt.%. Method is used to provide contacts on cold conductors, varistors and condensers. The prodn. of the contacts can thus be carried out easily and cheaply and the process can be automated.
