The gas laser, such as a helium-neon laser is particularly intended for instruction and demonstration purposes, or for holography and/or optical information transmission. It has a housing with a discharge tube, enclosed by mirrors. A part of the current supply system is mounted on a flexible circuit board (3, 9) which is so mounted in the housing (1) as to serve as a clamping element which holds the discharge tube (2) in a fixed clamping seat. Preferably between the housing and/or the circuit board and the discharge tube held in the clamping seat are provided flexible buffer elements (8), typically rubber blocks or lining members.
