Liquid hydrocarbon motor fuels - contg alcohol-water mixts., to reduce combustion residues and save fuel

Liquid motor fuels contg. (A) a hydrocarbon mixt. and a mixture (M) of a 1-4C alcohol and water, opt. with a vegetable oil, with ratio of (A) to (M) of 1-9:1. Content of harmful combustion residues is reduced and a substantial saving of fuel achieved, without affecting carburettor performance. (A) is pref. petrol, but may also be crude oil or its fractions e.g. light oil. The alcohol is methyl or isopropyl alcohol, and may be a mixt. of 2 or more alcohols. Pref. castor oil is included in amount of 0.1-2 wt.% of the total, to ensure easier mixing of hydrophilic and hydrophobic constituents. Part of the alcohol (e.g. 30%) is mixed with (A) and part (e.g. 70%) with the water and oil, and the two mixts. combined.
