The cyclically recurring test pulses may be consecutively applied in turn to all the inputs of the circuit being tested so that a continuous test pulse train reaches the circuit output; and there is an output unit which is connected to the circuit output which does not respond to the test pulses. The apparatus is designed to deliver a defect alarm signal if the uninterrupted pulse train does not reach the output of the circuit which is under test. The circuit being tested may typically be a control of regulator circuit consisting of logical networks with AND gates and OR gates.
