A series resistor (8) for the motor (M) is in parallel with the disconnecting switch contacts (5a) and relay winding (4). The contacts comprise two L-shaped members which are electrically conducting and flexible with bimetallic strips, which remain fixed until the heat developed is sufficient to release the contact.
