The mill comprises a cylindrical vessel which is partially filled with abrasive particles of dia. 0. 2-3 mm., and which has an inlet at one end and an outlet at the other end for the material being abraded. Arranged concentrically in the vessel is an agitator consisting of a high-speed driven agitator shaft (8) with agitating tools. The shaft is surrounded at a distance by and rigidly connected to a helical cooling pipe (11) which is pref. supported on spacer bars (10) attached to the shaft with parallel axes. Pref. the internal distance between two adjacent turns of the cooling pipe, extended into an axial plane of the shaft is more than 3 times the dia. of the abrasive particles.
