Apparatus for manufacturing concrete pipes comprises a rotary pipe mould (11) with end sealing rings (8), a vibratory compacting roller (14) mounted in the mould and which is either independently driven or moves with the mould, and a pressing device (16) which presses the compacting roller radially outwards. Outside the pipe mould are mounted stops (19) for limiting movement of the compacting roller in the radial direction. The stops may be adjustable and provided with means for measuring the degree of adjustment. Pref. the roller length is greater than the mould inner length, and the stops are adjusted so that, in the end position of the roller, there is a small gap (21) between the roller outer periphery and the sealing ring inner periphery.
