Cube-shaped building structure for scaffolding - has given positions for oblique struts and for bolt holes

A cube-shaped building element, e.g. for scaffolding, is made from 12 lengths of L-section bar joined to constitute the 12 edges of a cube. At two opposite sides of the cube the bars define an open frame. At the remaining four sides adjacent bars are reinforced by oblique struts. Each bar has bolt holes (17, 24) in each side of the L-section, wherein the distance between the respective ends of the bar and the nearest hole is half the distance between adjacent holes along the bar. The bars are welded together (25) at mitred joints, the edges of the mitres being bevelled to provide V-grooves for welding.
