Each unit (1) to be enclosed is mounted in a bell-shaped vessel open at the bottom with double walls filled with an insulating liquid or gas. Its inner wall (2) facing the unit is made of an insulating material with a number of conducting inserts arranged in at least two layers. The outer wall (3) is conducting and earthed, and the space between the enclosed unit (1) and the vessel is tightly closed by a diaphragm. The application is especially suitable for normally mass-produced switches and windings in enclosed installations. In the case of over loading the generated gas is released into the atmosphere.
