Voltage measuring device - has capacitive voltage divider for fully insulated, metal enclosed HV switchgear

The voltage measuring device has an amplifier, and the metal cladding has an extension for the capacitive voltage divider consisting of several plate capacitors connected in series, all mounted in the extension. One end of this series circuit is connected to h.v. switchgear inner conductor, and the other is earthed. A voltage tapping between two capacitors is connected to an amplifier input. Traditional and commercially available plate capacitors can be used eg. in form of disc capacitors which do not give rise to the problem of centralising. Ceramic dielectrics are preferably used to achieve the advantages of high insulation, assurity against breakdown, and small lose factor.
