Separate or simultaneous plucking or cutting of corn in a harvesting procedure where in at least one of several adjacent rows, the corn plants are cut in their totality, drawn in and chopped and in a row which connects transverse to the direction of travel, the corn cobs are drawn in and chopped. The chopped material is centrally collected by opposed transverse feeding and is mixed and ejected. Such a harvester has a draw-in and cutting device (15) for the complete plant and at least one cob plucking assembly (14), which has a cutting drum (4, 5) driven transverse to the direction of travel with a conveyor device (9) transporting to a common ejector blower (6) in the outlets of both coaxial cutter drums (4, 5).
