The thrust generators (38) are fitted at an angle to the line of flight (32) with the exhausts pointing upwards so that the sound wave axis (54) and the thrust generators air flow (42) have the same direction. Thrust deflectors (40) are fitted to the jet outlets to guide the propulsion force parallel to the line of flight to produce a combined thrust vector. The deflectors are curved to form a depression side (60) with slots on the flow side (62) through which air is blown from the compressor to prevent a change from laminant to turbulent flow on the depression side. The thrust generator could also be pivoted so that the deflectors were not in use at certain heights.
