Frit charging conveyor - for electric glass fusion furnace reciprocates distributing charge over half furnace width

An electric glass fusion furnace is equipped with a device which charges the frit into the furnace and with distributor arms which rotate across the surface and distribute the frit evenly. The charging device is a worm conveyor with a discharge opening over a slot in the furnace ceiling. The conveyor is attached to an endless rope drive so that it can distribute its charge over half the furnace hearth width. This ensures an optimum distribution of the frit and a minimum covering-up of the surface.
