Cardiac pacemaker electrode with adhesive reservoir - gives precise location of electrode in heart muscle tissue

A container of adhesive is fitted into the electrode head and can be emptied by sliding a mandrel through the catheter and/or by sliding a guide catheter fitted over the first catheter. The adhesive thus locates the electrode precisely in position where required in the heart muscle tissue. The container may be formed by a cavity inside the electrode head equipped with at least one outlet and with a plunger which can be an extension of the mandrel. The adhesive can be filled in through an inlet running from the surface of the electrode to the cavity and sealed by the detachable, projecting electrode tip.
