Flexible sleeve made of latex, silicone rubber, etc., for introducing catheter or endoscope into the urethra includes a ring of latex, silicone rubber or foam. The sleeve and ring are moved over the catheter as far as its tip, and when the ring abuts against the urethra opening, the catheter is moved further to pierce the split hemispherical tip of the sleeve, avoiding contact between the catheter and non-sterile parts of the urethra. The sleeve may also include a gripping plate, a flat sleeve and an inserted mandrel, to introduce the sleeve prior to introducing the catheter.
