Copying system for patterns later to be handworked - has photographic technique producing grey tone subdued image for subsequent painting or embroidery

The system is for production of copies which are to be hand worked i.e. having contours for painting, patterning and/or motifs for use in embroidery. It uses a process in which a motif is photographed (14) and a contrast image having subdued grey shades is produced (15) from the image of the motif photographically recorded. This contrast image is then transferred to the material onto which it is to be copied and fixed when in position. The grey tones of the contrast image produced from the photograph are subdued by the use of extremely hard working photographic materials (16).
