C-contg. heat-resistant material (A) contains in dry condition, by wt. 10-99% calcined anthracite and/or thermoanthracite, 1-50% water-miscible binder pref. 0-40% C-contg. admists. (I) and 0-30% C-free inert admixts. (II). (A) is used for mfr. of monolytic, compacted articles, mouldings and blocks for industrial plant working at high temps. esp. for ferrous and non-ferrous metal metallurgy e.g. for making, repairing and maintenance of blast furnace channels and slag separators, tap spouts, siphons and smelting chambers of cold blast and hot blast cupola furnaces. (A) has high resistance to slags, liq. metals, oxidn. by air- O2, dimensional resistance and can be worked with water without heating.
