The coffee mill housing (1) contains a grinding chamber (2) with supply shaft (3) and grinding discs (4, 5) driven by a motor assembly (6, 7) wherein the ground coffee is delivered through a discharge opening (10) which is fairly large to allow unimpeded delivery of the coffee without any danger of blockage. To prevent fingers from entering the grinding chamber (2) and contacting the dangerous grinding discs, at least one, preferably several thin bars (13) are mounted in the delivery outlt (10) to extend parallel or criss-cross across the outlet to provide a kind of safety mesh. These bars are however very thin so that they do not in practice reduce the cross-sectional area of the outlet so that the motor capacity of the mill is not affected.
