The bee-hive (10) consists of a housing (11) with an inner housing (13) divided across the length of the hive (10) by a central comb (14) into two equal halves which are in turn divided equally halfway down by a cross-wise barrel-grille (15). The inner compartment of the hive (13) is thereby divided into four roughly equal parts (16, 17, 18, 19), with two diagonally opposite ones forming the broad or honey compartments (16, 18). Several, preferably ten, frames (20) are inserted into each of the parts (16, 17, 18, 19) and are mounted on spacer-pieces (21) on the hive floor (22).
