Combined firearm and target safety system - has energy radiating source for blocking firearm for general purposes

The arrangement for preventing misuse of small firearms of all kinds consists of an energy field within which the firearms can be used. The firearm is provided with a blocking arrangement which responds to a given energy field. The target area transmits a relatively narrow beam of energy which permits firing of the firearm only in the general direction of the target. The energy is directed through a tube below the target to the receiver (22) on the firearm which has an electro-magnetic blocking mechanism (24). The energy beam does not disturb the aiming process and it ensures safety on target practice firing.
