Mortice lock with double turn actuation - has additional locking element which becomes active only on second turn

The lock especially a mortice lock is used for doors with frames made from hollow profiles. The lock has latch actuated by a number of turns. The first turn does not actuate an additional locking mechanism and this reduces wear of the lock. The lock becomes more difficult to pick when it is rotated twice on locking. The additional locking element (41) is pivoted on the latch (8) and, on rotating the key twice, it is moved from its spring loaded rest position into the locked position. This element is also held in the locked position by a spring. The locking element (41) is provided with two locking surfaces which are angled to each other.
