The exposed and unexposed reels of film are locked against rotation by a withdrawable element. The locking elements consist of two mirror symmetrical fingers. When inserted, they engage a toothed ring on both reel hubs. The fingers are parts of a locking element movable against a spring pressure, which extends through an axial recess in the hubs of both reels up to the cassette wall. It can be operated from outside by suitable means mounted on the camera. The advantage lies in the fact that locking of both reels is realised by a common locking element.
