The subject is a pre-stressed reinforced-concrete nuclear reactor tank or container, where the cylindrical lengthways pre-stressing is normally to be effected in stress channels, and where there are openings for the heat-exchangers in the reactor vessel only in the cover, centrally and on the periphery. Here the cylinder sheat is constructed only to the extent that it is needed for pressure transfer of interior pressure onto the stress members, during the stressing process.
