Filing cabinet with drawers attached to endless chain - has safety switches actuated by movement of drawers to prevent inadvertent starting of motor driving endless chain

The filing cabinet (1) has an outer case (5) containing an upper and lower sprocket for an endless chain which carries a number of filing boxes (2) which contain sliding drawers (3'). Access to the filing system is provided by an opening (6) in the side of the compartment at the same height as the work-table (7) so that the drawer (3') can be pulled out and its contents referred to. To prevent the inadvertent starting of the electric motor which drives the sprocket limit switches are fitted to the motor circuit. These limit switches are operated by a spring load metal strip (8) which is pushed on to the switches by the drawer (3') before the motor can be started.
