Fire fighting engines used for industrial applications have to be versatile for various types of fires. In each case a special equipment might be needed to match the type of fire on hand. Apart from this the vehicle must be equipped with basic tools as well. The vehicle is permanently equipped with the basic tools and apart from this provides in the loading surface a centrally situated well (4) into which containerised suitable special fire fighting equipment can be lowered. For this purpose the vehicle can be fitted with a self contained crane (5) which, if necessary, could be useful for salvaging operations on the spot.
