Light action trigger mechanism for automatic cannon - has breech block catch lever actuated by pivoted leaf spring

The trigger mechanism for an automatic cannon has a catch lever held in rest position in the cannon breech block path. The triggering system requires only a slight actuating forece without use of complicated additional mechanisms. This mechanism actuates the catch lever for firing or for arresting the breech block. A pivoted leaf spring (30) is provided which is actuated by the trigger (4). One end of this spring is in contact with the catch lever (16) and the spring angular position is determined by the end positions of the spring holder. The effect of this spring is eliminated before the catch lever is rotated out of its rest position. This leaf spring can be held by its support at one end or by its middle. This spring exerts a high force and hence actuating times are short.
