Catalyst for oxidative combustion of F-free halohydrocarbons, by reaction with O2 or O2-contg. gases, consists of a porous glass support contg. Pt. and/or Pd as active component. Process allows disposal of halohydrocarbon waste materials, e.g. Cl-, Br- or I-contg. aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic or polycyclic cpds. opt. contg. multiple bonds. The catalysts have high activity.
