Economy circuit for myoelectrically controlled motor-driven prosthesis in which drive motor (10) is connected to a current source (B+) via a switching unit (7) comprises a measuring circuit (14) which emits a signal dependent on motor speed, e.g. a signal dependent on the ratio of motor current (Im) to motor voltage. The switching unit is actuated to disconnect the motor from the current source, when the signal exceeds a given threshold value associated with a low speed or stopping of the motor. The signals dependent on motor speed aretransmitted to a comparator (17) of which output is connected via a threshold switch, e.g. a Schmitt trigger (19), and pref. via an integrator (18), to a flip-flop circuit (20) of which the output controls the switching unit.
