A main counter is connected to the fundamental frequency oscillators. It also has a store for the counters and a resetting device, connected to the main counter. A sensor is connected to the test oscillator in order to change its frequency in accordance with the change of the tested analogue data value. When the first counter has counted a specified number of fixed frequency pulses, the main counter starts to count these pulses, and continues to do so until the second counter has counted the same specified number of variable frequency pulses. The main counter stops counting and delivers the number of the store and to the resetting device for display or control.
