Textile surface coverings are cleaned with an aq. cleaning fluid contg. a suspended hard water-stable tenside-modified Al silicate of formula (Cat2/nO)x.Al2O3. (SiO2)y (I) (where Cat is a non-surfactant Ca-exchangeable cation of valency n x is 0.7-1.5 esp. 0.9-1.3, and y is 0.8-6, esp. 1.3-4) having Ca-bonding capacity 50-200 (80-175)mg CaO/g anhydrous active substance, and contg. (w.r.t. wt. tenside + (I)) 0.1-30 (0.5-20) wt.% tenside stable to hard water. Cleaning textile floor-covers, esp. opt. fitted carpets by hand or machine; wall-covers; upholstered furniture and car-seats. Compsns. combine superior cleaning activity with little danger of re-soiling; particle size of (I) can be kept small, e.g. 30u and suspensions do not settle nor flocculate.
