Stacked plate solar heat absorber - fluid passes through sheets to form heat transfer contact with sun-radiated plate

Solar heat absorber constitutes a stack of plates involving sheet walls (1, 1') through which water or similar diathermal fluid is passed in such a way that the upper stack plate exposed to the direct sunlight enters heat-transfer contact with the fluid, right across the inside surface of the plate. Preferably the lower wall is flat, as compared with the upper wall (1) which is corrugated with the result that the rays of morning and evening sun are repeatedly reflected between the corrugations and progressively absorbed, so that the absorption capacity of the collector reaches 100% black body efficiency. The absorber should be enclosed by a frame (2) made from wooden supports (3) and insulating walls (4) in the lower part, with a glass pane (7) at the top.
