A system to hold a centering device upright within a reinforcement cage, used in the production of reinforced concrete pipes, manufactured in a stepwise fashion starting from one end of the pipe, has at least four centering bolts, inserted into the end of the reinforcement cage away from the end at which casting of concrete commences. The bolts are inserted at the commencement or just before commencement of the casting operation. The centering bolts lie inside or outside the reinforcement cage, but close to it and parallel to the longitudinal centre line of the cage. Preferably, when the concrete approaches the bolts location, they are extracted from the mould. The mould typically consists of a two-part casing with a central spindle, along which a table rolls reciprocally.
