Granular sulphur-based mortar - comprising sulphur, inert filler and finely divided polysulphide plasticiser

Sulphur-based mortar esp. for bonding bricks or tiles, or connecting pipes in acidic surroundings, contains of a dry, granular mixt. of sulphur, and inert filler, and a finely divided, polysulphide rubber plasticiser. The mortar is prepd. by (a) cooling a polysulphide rubber plasticiser to such a temp. that it solidifies, (b) grinding the cooled pdt. in the presence of a dusting agent, (c) allowing the ground pdt. to adjust to room temp., and (d) mixing with the sulphur and the filler.
