Purificn. plant comprises a sedimentation chamber followed by a storage chamber, both being served by a vacuum line which can induce suction pressures to pull waste water into the sedimentation chamber and to pull clarified water into the storage chamber after sedimentation treatment; the clarified water taken over into the storage chamber is drawn from a sub-compartment of the sedimentation chamber sepd. off by a slotted, vertical partition which allows water to pass but holds back sediment. To achieve this each screen slot is obscured by a vertical guard which extends downwards from above the slot, leaving a narrow vertical channel behind the guard, up which water will siphon but sediment will not carry.
