The computer has a numerical input for feeding in required coordinates for the workpiece and these coordinates are held in a store. There are two separate outputs, one for the X direction, and the other for the Y direction. The computer outputs pass through numerical/analogue converters followed by analogue memories. The outputs of these memories are then passed through summing amplifiers which also receive inputs from speed signal generators which also feed signals back to the computer. Current from the amplifiers is fed to motors driving the tool in the X and Y directions, and the speed sensors are connected to the motors.
