Acid phosphatase prepn. - by aq. extraction of aspegillus terreus mycelium, fractionation with ammonium sulphate and freeze-drying

Isolation of acid phosphatase by extraction of Aspergillus terreus mycelum, precipitation of the enzyme from the extract and drying the enzyme. The process is for industrial scale and gives enzyme of high activity compared with that from animal and vegetable sources. Mycelium is extracted with water, fractionated with ammonium sulphate at 50% then 80% saturation and the second ppt. is collected and dialysed, then dried. All stages are at 4 degrees C, Mycelium is grown pref for 10 days. The product has an activity of 2-3 units/mg.
