A jointing, caulking or coating compsn. for cement and plaster surfaces and other applications comprises: a pulverlenthydraulic binder or a liquid or g. binder, graded inorganic fillers, animal or plant adhesive or other adjuvants and reinforcing fibres pref. short glass or asbestos fibres. The compsn. is either a powder or ready to use paste and the fibres are homogeneously distributed in the compsn. For plaster work the binder is natural or synthetic plaster and for cement work it is natural or synthetic cement. The adhesive is carboxymethylcellulose and adjuvants may be acrylic or polyvinyl resins which impart adhesion and plasticity as well as consistent setting time to the compsn. The adhesive, pref. contains an antimoulding agent.
