The hypodermic syringe has a device which holds the needle inside the syringe body in the hollow plunger shaft prior to use. Another device prevents unintentional actuation of the plunger shaft before use. Pref. the syringe body is divided into two chambers by a plunger with the two components connected by a bore hole which can be closed by sliding the plunger.
