The irregular decagonal pacing slab of concrete or other mouldable material, is intended for use surfacing car parks, hard shoulders, and footways. Features are good interlocking of units in plant with no joints parallel or normal to the direction of travel and better resistance to cleavage. Units are bedded on fine sand and without a binding joint filler. Pref. the unit has three re-entrant (a1) and three projecting corners (b1), e.g. 200 deg. and 160 deg. internal angles respectively forming the upper and lower major parallel similar and co-aligned faces. Longitudinal slab edges are mirror images, lateral edges are parallel and edges are chamfered or rounded.
